These events are a signature event of the National Cancer Prevention Fund, and are being implemented in conjunction with the Palm Restaurants across the country as both a fundraising vehicle and a community education tool. The Men's Event is, by the very nature and professional stature of its attendees, a high-profile event. The opportunity for a prestige group of men to enjoy an evening among their peers in an upscale dinner setting has been an irresistible draw to past events. This is a primary factor in the success of previous Men's Events, and the scenario is being replicated in various areas of the nation. The first Men's Event was held in Denver 34 years ago. It was introduced into New York, Atlanta, Chicago and Los Angeles in 1999, expanded into Washington, DC in 2000 and Nashville in 2001. Troy, Michigan was added in October of 2002. Boston, Massachusetts was added in September of 2004 and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania will be added in the spring of 2008.

The cost of attending each Men's Event is generally $500, and includes an unlimited bar and hors d'oeuvres, a steak and lobster dinner, gift certificates, door prizes and a grand prize trip. Door prizes include items such as men's fashions, airline tickets, golf outings, private box seats to sporting events, dining certificates, skis and golf clubs.

Each attendee takes home information on prostate cancer, the local charity and NCPF. Informal sessions are held prior to the cocktail hour for individuals interested in learning more about prostate cancer. These sessions are moderated by a physician or researcher from the local charity partner.

Prior to establishing the event in a new city, NCPF associates with a local charity which receives at least 50% of the net proceeds from the event.
